Attuning to Nature: A Listening and Drawing Workshop on Coney Island with Zai Tang

Description

Operating Hours

Location

What chirps, rustles, and hidden grooves will you discover in Singapore’s former largest natural bird sanctuary?

In this two-part experience with artist Zai Tang, participants are invited to slow down and connect with the environment through sound and touch. The session begins with a guided soundwalk, where you’ll listen closely to the island’s vibrant soundscape, followed by a reflective sharing of what was heard and felt.

In the second half, turn your attention to texture through frottage — a playful and tactile technique of making rubbings using graphite and paper. Discover the unique surfaces around you, then come together to create a collaborative composition inspired by the landscape.

Along the way, learn more about the rich natural and environmental histories of Punggol and Coney Island. Whether you're tuning in with your ears or your hands, you'll leave with a deeper connection to your environment.
  • 14 and 15 June
  • 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM
  • Ticket prices: $35 per pax
  • Entry with pre-booking via online ticketing only
